In rela­tion to Lux­em­bour­gish NGOs, Lux­em­bourg financed six human­i­tar­i­an projects, giv­ing approx­i­mate­ly EUR3 mil­lion. The projects sup­port­ed by the Lux­em­bourg Red Cross, the Fon­da­tion Car­i­tas Lux­em­bourg and CARE Lux­em­bourg sought to improve access to ade­quate health ser­vices and emer­gency shel­ter for war-affect­ed pop­u­la­tions by win­ter 2023. In addi­tion to these human­i­tar­i­an projects, Lux­em­bourg made a con­tri­bu­tion of EUR300,000 to LUkraine asbl to acquire armoured ambu­lances to enable the association’s Ukrain­ian part­ners to evac­u­ate civil­ians from the front line. More­over, Lux­em­bourg has main­tained its sup­port for the UN agen­cies in Ukraine, name­ly the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), OCHA and the World Food Pro­gramme (WFP). The Grand Duchy also sup­port­ed the joint ini­tia­tive Grains from Ukraine”, run by the Ukrain­ian Gov­ern­ment and the WFP.
