Cross-cutting priorities

The major global environmental changes, and in particular climate change, loss of biodiversity and desertification, are adversely impacting the human and natural systems on which human well-being and economic activities are based.

The promotion and the protection of gender equality remain priorities of Luxembourg’s foreign policy, including in relation to development cooperation, where gender is at the core of the work done.

Luxembourg's Development Cooperation aims primarily to strengthen the respect for and protection and realisation of human rights in order to create an environment that offers equal opportunities, so that each individual can freely determine the course of his or her existence.
